Just wondering what happend or came with this lawsuit for shaving hours off of payroll .

Even though this is an old suit it is still new enough in that many of the managers and mind set that enabled the likes of Bob Nardelli are probably still in the company .

Irreguardless of the lawsuit in a company the size HD and others behavior/conduct like this is probably taught & condoned by others which means still keep an eye out .

I work at Lowes and have experienced the same thing along with other employees, but we failed to document it. I mentioned it to mangement, not HR, and it stopped, at least for us. But I am sure it is still going on for others in the store. This, I am sure, is a quick way for the piss poor HR to cut hours.

If you read the details on the recent Walmart off the clock suit sttlement one of the things that nailed them was changing time cards .To me they are falsifying information and/or commiting FRAUD just as they were or are doing with this payroll 'shaving' .

They're actually defrauding the government out of potential tax dollars when you cut someone's pay .Especially with companies as big as HD or Walmart .

The thing is as employee you really have no advocates in these organizations .What bothers me more is the fact that they think they can get away with it or use stuff like shaving payroll as a tool to control cost so THEIR job is secure and they can make bonus .

And these tricks, scams and schemes seem to be like common knowledge and accepted practice in many circles .Sorta like a baseball player knows a spit ball might be to THEIR advantage but it's still cheating .In sports this is cheating in the game of real life when you cheat someone out their money it is CRIMINAL THEFT as far as I am concerned .

It takes a real sociopathic personality to be your HR friend or alley one day then 'trimming' your pay check the next .
