I need to find out Nordstrom's return policy asap, so I will know if I need to go there tomorrow to return something that I bought about a month ago that ended up being the wrong size. I would call and ask, but they are closed now, and I will be leaving the house early tomorrow morning, before they open, so I can't call them then either. Anyway, I just thought someone might know.
Thanks!

They take anything back, even if they don't sell it. And they'll give you cash back, even if you don't have a receipt.

Thanks, Karen. If that's the case, then I might not go today...I really need to stay home and clean my house! I was just wondering if there is a time limit.

I returned some tires I bought elsewhere, and they gave me a refund, so why not?

Hey, don't laugh but the Tire story is true.

Nordstrom bought a chain of stores in Alaska that sold tires. Of course they quit after the Nordstrom integrations, but a customer brought back his used tires that he was unhappy with and Nordstriom took the tires back. Even more so unusual was the tires were sold in Alaska and returned in Seattle.

FOM, you know everything about retail! Are you teaching those kids how to shop?
I called and asked about the return policy, and they said that you can return almost anything. I asked if there was a time limit, and there isn't. So I'll probably go tomorrow. I had too much to do today.

I used to be a retail geek, I always wanted to know the histories of the brands we shopped so commonly. It started about the time Montgomery Ward went bankrupt and just went from there. I gave presentations about it in college..

RH Macy and the sociological changes that occurred as a result of its 148 year history in America.

&

Macy's and Popular Culture - How retail has shaped the world we live in it.

I know it's odd, but it was fascinating to me at the time.

Do you think they would take back my Sony VCR that I bought at Rich's 12 years ago?

Threaten to shop at Neiman Marcus or Bloomingdales. Even worse - tell them you will write a letter!

I love Nordstroms, it's my favorite store. At least you can still get real customer service there.

I have only shopped Nordstrom once - the flagship in Seattle Washington. I wasn't impressed with the customer service in the shoe department. I had forgotten my Crocs, so I went to Nordstrom to see if they had them. The guy in the shoe department acted more like I was wasting his time rather than trying to sale me a pair of Crocs.

I won't judge the place biased on one experience, but I wasn't impressed with my first trip to Nordstrom. They opened one in Atlanta a few years ago at Phipps Plaza when Lord and Taylor pulled out. Maybe I will go down there one day.
