I don't know about you but sales and credits is way up in my store. They been offering us a lot of credit incentive. Like free bag of candy if you open 5 credit for part time and 10 for full time(This is every week). Pizza partys for which ever floor opens the most charges. Free $20 metrocard per floor for the people who opens the most. They was a lot more incentives for the previously weeks. The candy incentive is every week plus this week who ever opens 15 or more charges will win a $300 suit of our choice. I don't know if this is coming from the store manager pockage or the stores budge. Plus we are having a credithon this week and we could win a 15% or a 20% coupon if we do good. Plus they said we will have an extra 40% back of house soon and the 15% or 20% coupon. MLB do you know the next time we will have an extra 40% back of house. Change is good. Macys Rocks.

No, Money, business is lousy in my store. It is in almost all former May doors. May customers do not like Macy's. Sales have been way down for 2 years now and the same for credit!

And how does Macy's win over the Mayco customer? How else....sell everything in the store for $4.99!!! This is a great idea! Now we will never be able to sell regular merchandise again, ever!

our store was doing a Credithon this week as well. with each credit you open, with your macy money you also get a playing card (from a real deck of cards). if you open a bunch of credits you will have lots of cards. whoever has the best hand will win more macy money and maybe a gift card. (?). way to go macy*s. always nice to promote poker/gambling. do they even bother to think that someone may be a compulsive gambler and this is all they need to push them over the edge? i'm just saying.
oh, the other big thing is they want to get 100% participation for the credits. that means they want EVERY friggin associate to open at LEAST one a week. a girl who has been with us about 5 or 6 months AS WELL as a gal who has only been with macy's 2 - 3 weeks said one of the mgrs wanted them both to "HELP" some other associates who haven't opened any by opening one for them. !!!! do you believe this?
I told them both flat out not to do it. it's nice to show your gsm that you're being helpful to other associates, but you are screwing yourselves for your review. sure this associate will get the macy money but the others who have NOT opened any will get the credit.
i told them both : bottom line = your review is based MOSTLY ON 2 THINGS: productivity and CREDITS. you need those credits FOR YOU and only YOU. just tell them you forgot and put in your number. and now i'm wondering how they can do that anyway....you have to put YOUR number AND pin in the register to do that anyway.
the girl who is new is especially vulnerable. she needs to open lots of credits or she could get fired. they DID fire a gal in january who didn't open enough. so i told em don't do it.
boy, i have to take care of everyone, don't i?

OMG!!!!!!!! I read the other day that James was going to refuse to use the POV! WOW!
I read about BB 10 tonight. Looks like its a go for this summer. Though I am moving to Georgia, so I will have to find out what channel it's on!
OY VAY!!!! I hope Matt goes home. I don't care for him, though I am not a big Ryan fan either.
OY VAY, speaking of moving, its starting to get expensive just thinking of all the small things that I am going to have to buy.
Ironing Board, Cleaning Supplies, Vacuum Cleaner, Washing Machine, Dryer..... the list goes on and on.
Though I can't wait to go open my new checking/savings accounts and finally get that Georgia Drivers License!

The word is that Matt is going this week, and Natalie will join him next week. That sequester house should be rocking. Maybe they need a new mattress from Macy's.

NormaRae,
They were doing the same thing in my store for the Credithon... trying to get the good performers to open credits for those we who have not opened any. As you stated, we would just be giving our annual review points away. The whole Macy's idea of "Teams Win" reminds of a communistic mindset.

You would have to be crazy to "give away" your credits!!! You are only worth your weight in credit apps to Macy's!!!
Especially new hires, who can be fired for not making their goals!

this is what i'm saying. of course the managers don't tell the associates/newbies that. all they're worried about is looking for 100% participation, which really is impossible. i mean, come on, some people only work 1 day a week, and probably won't open 1 that day.
oh, this is a good one.... a gal told me when she came in a manager starts in on her as she's walking in the door...did you open any credits this week? the poor gal had been off all week. now they want you to open credits when you're not even here? gimme a fu*king break !!!

Have you opened your credits today?
Macy's isn't alone. Lowe's would send in inspectors to see if we were offering credits. Do you know what those credits do to a person at Lowe's?
Buy this beautiful brand new Samsung refrigerator. I can put it on your Lowe's card for only $58.88 a month.
(By the time that you pay for the interest and the principal payments on the refrigerator it cost you nearly $13,000) Some people were actually dumb enough to believe that it was that cheap.

Yes I want to buy this Ralph Lauren Shirt. Its 90.00..... Can you tell me hoe many years it would take to pay it off if I finance it? I see the minimum payment is $6.88 a month.

I love macys. Last week we had a credit contest at my store. Who ever opens 10 or more charges will be put in a drawing for a $300 suit of my choice. Only 3 people open 10 or more charges and I was one of them, and they pick my name for the suit I was so happy. When I picked out my suit I pick a sports jacket and 2 pairs of slack. A total of $304. The Operations manager approved my clothing. I was really happy because he could say no, only 1 jacket & 1 pants and not 2 pants. I like this operations manager, me and him is really cool. He alway giving me free stuff for a credit promotion. Plus my GSm aways buying me a metrocard for work. I don't care what anybody says, Macys is the best. The reason my GSM buys me a metrocard is because I open so many accounts, but it comes out of his pocket and not macys. I am glad I work at this Macys because we have very cool bosses that we work with.

Money, I'm glad that you won the suit. But I have to say...MACY'S SUCKS!
You may never get to wear that suit to work, if they cut all of your hours!
