First of all I have a hearing loss, but it doesn't keep me from communicating well with customers, and I have always been able to help them find what they came to buy.
I worked the lot for two months at a HD in my hometown, and 7 1/2 months at the Home Depot in the town where I go to college.
As I experienced it wasn't worth it being the cart b-tch as it made me sleep too much, and it left me with backpain behind my heart.
I did consider having a new physical report filled out by my doctor, but I decided it probably would hurt more than do any good. The HR manager actually said he would have me do work in another department but I still would have to go back to the lot. Even through I have recieved positive reviews, they don't seem to be interested in moving me to another department.
When I called the HR manager at the store in my hometown, all they had to offer was the lot position again.
I still feel upset because when I first applied at Home Depot I was offered Nighttime freight besides lot, I was turned down for a position of night freight as I felt I was qualified for it because I worked in the pop industry as both FT and PT merchandiser operating electric trucks to bring loads out in the presence of customers to work the loads. Also worked with forklift drivers to get down what I needed.
I was denied that position because she thought I wouldn't be safe around forklifts.
Never even called the two Coke Companies I worked for.
If I hadn't been safe around forklifts in my previous two jobs Id be dead if I was a idiot.
My other question is I was told at
Store A which I first worked at
You have to be employed 90 days before changing departments
Store B which I worked at before I quit
You have to be employed 6 months before changing departments
Were they lying to me at store B about changing positions?
I will be recieving alot of flak from my mom and sister for resigning.
I had to resign as it was taking a toll on my life, college grades.
It wasn't a good place to work for in the end.
Its true they are discontinuing tutition reimbursement for part time students right?

I hired two associates to work on our freight team...both excellent. They can operate hi-lo's but cannot be spotters. Are you certain that this is why you didn't get the position?
There is a 90-day time in position "guideline" that associates don't transfer from operations to sales or vice versa until after 90 days. If there is a dire need, and you're hightly qualifies, you may be considered within the 90 day period. It's not a policy, it's a guideline.
The 6-month thing is for store-to-store transfers.
