Opera has removed the banners, found within our browser, and the licensing fee. Opera's growth, due to tremendous worldwide customer support, has made today's milestone an achievable goal. Premium support is available.
The most full-featured Internet power tool on the market, Opera includes pop-up blocking, tabbed browsing, integrated searches, and advanced functions like Opera's groundbreaking E-mail program, RSS Newsfeeds and IRC chat. And because we know that our users have different needs, you can customize the look and content of your Opera browser with a few clicks of the mouse.

Yeah, got mine then too. Some of those party pics were high-larious. This latest move makes me think that Google browser may be closer than rumoured before.

If true, it might also explain MS's sudden interest in developing IE 7.
I had heard, can't remember where, that the google browser may be a rebranded firefox.

Everyone is in panic mode. Microsoft top programmers and project managers have been reportedly bailing ship and swimming over to Google. Google is the new Microsoft, only better... and hence more scary. What happens when they own the world wide web? Will they still be free?

Well, the google mantra, "don't be evil", at least offers a modicum of reassurance.

I've been a firefox fanboi for a few years now. The standards support, like opera, is great and tabbed browsing... can't live without tabbed browsing anymore.

Yeah..I actually, for some reason only known to me and my computer, launched IE the other night. I was scared.

It is scary isn't it?
I still keep an IE window open almost all the time. Mostly for testing but also for the occasional flash animation or flash based site that I might want to view. I can't stand flash ads so I don't have the plugin installed in FF.
I can hardly wait for IE 7 though! The fact that MS teamed up with a web standards advocacy group and has committed to fixing some of the most serious rendering bugs excites the web developer in me.
