I scored all of DVD's, including the Animatrix, from a friend and I want to watch them consecutively in the proper order. So far my googling has turned up zilch in this regard but what I've got so far is this:
I still have to fit in:
Any one have a clue where those ones fit in, if at all? I suspect that Detective Story, and maybe Matriculated, should come before the Matrix. And the rest, obviously, have to come before Revolutions, but where?

| Doesn't really matter where. They're just independent shorts, sort of like Twilight Zone or Tales From the Crypt idea. The important one is to watch Osiris right before Reloaded. TheMatrix101.com is a good site. Doesn't answer too many questions, but just enough to keep you going and the site is clean and not overloaded like some. | |

Kid's Story has to be watched before Reloaded too.
Hmm... I think this order makes the most sense:
Except for Detective Story, which simply introduces Trinity, all the explanatory shorts should come after the Matrix and before Reloaded. All the reactionary shorts (dealing with the resistance) before Revolutions. Interupting the apparent continuity between Reloaded and Revolutions presents a problem though. :shrug: I will figure this out!

Yeah, just watch them all first and then put 'em in order. 
Although, I bet you anything, that even after you've seen them all, there will still be one or two that just won't seem to want to fit anywhere.
Probably because the full Animatrix series really came out before Reloaded, even though it was released on DVD one month after it. If it were me, I'd watch all the animated shorts before watching Reloaded and leave Reloaded and Revolutions back to back. |
