Hello everyone,
I finally found where the other board went to....thanks to the help of a fellow co-worker. I'm alittle confused about something first of all, I've been at Sears alittle over 2 years and I've moved down in the company and back to where I was to begin with. You name it, I've probably done it, from being a cashier, MCA, working in receiving and so on.
Is it just me, or does it seem like Sears will hire someone off the streets in a position that is higher than what we are that already work in the store.
Don't you think Sears should take seniority over people who have been there and KNOW whats going on instead of hiring people that may or may not be qualified?
Let me hear ya'll,
Holls

I don't think this is exclusive to sears or any other retailer. Target, for instance, just opened up a new super-store in a community near mine. Almost all of the supervisors were hired in from other businesses (sears included! along with grocery stores) and trained one on one by existing supervisors in on-the-job-training at other stores, as to the ways of Target. The only outsiders we have at our sears store in management positions are national trainees recruited from colleges. Other than that, our store and our district promotes from within.

it's much easier to lure a new employee to a good position. if an existing employee is already in a crap job, keep them there, it's easier than hiring a new person for it.

All stores should have positions open posted. Any current associate that is performing to standard should be able to apply to any opening......as long as they are meeting all standards in their current position.
This apply's to moving from division to division in BC or HI also.
