Martha Stewart found guilty on all 4 charges against her today. The most serious of the charges had been dismissed earlier this week...my question is...Was it worth it to spend millions of dollars to convict Martha Stewart? Not in my mind.

I just think that they targeted her because she's a very intelligent women and that she's a threat to the "manhood" of men out there. For what she knows and what she used to do for a living (stockbroker), she made it in a "man's" world.

Personally, I don't like the woman. She failed as a broker. She failed at almost every one of her own ideas. What she succeeded at was other people's ideas. I have to give her credit for her vampiric tenacity and leprechaun greed, but all in all she is nothing more than a thief. Her ex-husband taught her not only business smarts, but proper use of the english language itself. Her friends gave her fashion, baking, sales/promotional ideas. No doubt they are in their glory right now, saying to themselves "what goes around, comes around". Karma will always get you.

Having said all of that, I do think she was used as a scapegoat, simply because she is a woman and an ill-liked one at that. All the other corporate fraud scandals during the past years involve men and all they seem to be getting is a slap on the wrist and some fines. Someone had to take a big fall for every one of them. Martha fit the bill I guess.

I do not know if Martha was targeted - I do not believe the world is fair - I believe she is guilty - it is not a matter if the crime or the amount was small scale, medium scale, or large scale - it is a matter of crime - what I also believe is that men are far more likely to escape the wrath of the law than women - like when a man kills his wife after inflicting years of physical and mental harm on her and receives 2 years, credit for time served, and early release - when a woman kills her husband, after enduring years of being battered, she gets 20 to life and little hope for parole - Martha just didn't think it would happen to her - she believed she was better than the law and her image would obscure any wrong doing on her part - if anyone is incensed about her verdict, it would prove to the betterment of society to deny plea bargains - if a person decides to go to jail so the bigger fish can live free, untouched, and high off the hog, then let them - I don't believe to many scapegoats will voluntarily serve time alone - start convicting and quit finding loopholes - if we can be this harsh on Martha (a small potato in the scheme of things), then DAMN IT!, make the bigger criminals who steal, embezzle, extort, scam, manipulate, etc. etc. etc. pay equally as harsh - it is not the level of the crime - it is the crime - to overlook wrongdoing because someone else did worse is not how to instill honorable behavior

What really happened in the Martha Stewart case? Her broker called her one day and said.."Hey, maybe you should think about selling your Imclone shares because Sam is selling his shares." Any one of us would sell our shares if our broker called to tell us something like this. If she would have fessed up initially to the feds, she would have gotten a slap on the wrist...but she lied to them when asked about the sale. That's the funny thing...the actual stock sale was not considered a crime...but lying about it when asked was a crime.

Well, looks like her enemies have won. Show's been cancelled, stock's taken a nosedive, employees leaving in droves. Aw shucks, what else could go wrong for that poor, pitiful woman. Doh! LOL!!! Oh well, that's what happens when you break the law.

Kmart will still sell her stuff. It's the only thing they have. I hope we do drop her paint, though.
