|
|
|
I am not positive but I believe the original retailworker.com began in August or September of 2002
This retail-worker.com began June 30, 2003
There is a recorded 1,310 Sears topics at the other site
There are 1,285 Sears topics at this site
There are a recorded 13,653 Sears posts at the other site
There are 13,888 Sears posts at the site
Just a bit of trivia - but to be fair - I believe many topics and posts were lost due to the original site shutting down - if someone has the real facts and numbers regarding the original site, please let us know

I think the old site started very early in 2002.(not sure)
It ended on June 25th 2003.
The old topics they saved are from 1/28/03 to 6/17/03. So many are missing. ~GoodFella

The previous owner of the other rw registered in the ufcw.net forums in September of 2001. rw had already been online for sometime at that point. I believe it may have been online since 1999 (same year ufcw.net went live).
I don't believe forums were added to rw until late 2001/early 2002.

You're very welcome. The Wayback Machine is way cool.
So what do people think of these two sites these days, anyway?

Well, both sites have seemed to have lost there way a bit (Sears-wise) anyway.
I can't speak for the other fourms that are on both of the sites.
Could it be the banning and rules here?
I think so. A less firm hand might have helped.
But this seems to be the site with most of the old crew from the old RW. Except for the ones that got clipped.
The other site? I don't post there much but I like the freedom that seems to go on there.
I like the compost bin instead of locking of a topic.
I like the fact that I have not seen anyone banned there yet.
Who knows? Just my little spin on this.
Thanks for asking Robbie. ~GoodFella

I like the rate that this site is growing. Slow and steady. We don't seem to be such a hotbed for management trolls here either.
The performance of the IWW site is still a turnoff for me. Nuke carries a lot of annoying behaviours and its compatibility with my browser of choice is less than stellar. Regardless, I still lurk in their forums once in a while.
