| We found out that our store isn't going to run any limited time only ads. Our Super Friday ads are going to be valid from Friday through Sunday. We'll have to see what really transpires. | |

HA doorbusters don't look much better as far as stock availability. It's going to be fun when all of the specials in Brand Central are sold out by 4:30 am nationwide...

Looks identical to a Kmart ad with all of those TVs with "minimum 2 per store". And that's probably what most stores will get.
Lots of unhappy customers ... call me psychic.

| I work in softlines so that is what I looked at - if that is the ad - I really saw the same prices we have on the special Saturday ads now. Nothing really was a bargain IMO. | |

| No, they will be busting down the doors for the 17 or so pallets of pot sets which came in yesterday on a separate truck from Texas. Pallets upon pallets of them. I just shook my head and went about my Christmas freight. we can't get more than one or two of some display items in Christmas, the pink pig, which everybody seems to want, comes to mind, There is simply no understanding it so I gave up. | |

Was having a problem with the cable today, and had to turn to Telemundo way up on the channel list for them to diagnose a problem. Lo and behold, a Sears "Blue Christmas Crew" commercial came on. While I don't speak Spanish fluently and the volume wasn't up enough to hear, the word "Layaway" did come in loud and clear on the screen.
Looks like the Sears Layaway area's going to be FULL of those TVs. Heh heh heh ... saw it over at Kmart like that. Guess how many you'll put back AFTER those prices are off, 2 or 3 days before Christmas. Always loved that when it came to stuff like patio furniture -- stuff you COULD have sold before and pissed off customers because you didn't have it when they were there. But now you're stuck with it. When Meijer had layaway, one of their smart ideas was to exclude any specially priced merchandise like those TVs. Just shows how SHC loves to grope for any sales they can find. Hope those unemployment figures don't go up dramatically before all of those layaways are completely paid for. Today's govt numbers said 500,000 NEW, first-time claims made just last month. |
