Unrelated to Sears, but important none the less. Norman Borlaug, the greatest person to ever have lived, died at the age of 95. The world is a little less grand without him. Most people probably have never heard of his name and his remembrance probably won't be covered except in that one article, but that doesn't make him any less commanding of respect.

If anyone is wanting to know why he is the greatest person to ever live, its because society and agriculture today would not be possible without the techniques he used to increase crop yield by selecting only the most productive, insect resistant, and drought resistant crops and planting them in places that no other crops could thrive. It was forecast that in 1970 populations in china, india, mexico, and other areas would outgrow their food production and millions upon millions would die of starvation. Because of his work and efforts for 10 years, by 1971-73, these areas were growing more food than people could eat, saving perhaps as many as a BILLION (yes with a B) people. So next time you sit down for dinner, be grateful for the food you have because of him, because without him, agriculture couldn't support the 7 Billion people alive right.
