What do you all think? I was reading the Wiki article,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Employee_Free_Choice_Act

which I don't understand. It said that EMPLOYERS can currently decide if employees can even have a secret ballot to unionize! If that's true, how do workplaces EVER unionize???

After my terrible day today at Macy's, I'm convinced that we need unions more than ever!

I've been saying this for as long as I've been a member of this board. Unions are the only way to go. HR is NOT our friend, no matter how far the door swings open.

Before Arlen Specter jumped political ships, he voted NO on EFCA. Now that he's a Dem, I'm sceptical on a YES vote from him.

The repubs are saying it's the end of the secret ballot, which is so far from the truth. The repubs want to scare the workers into rejecting EFCA.

Oh, I agree! I don't trust ANYONE in this company! We need unions badly. We had an organizing drive in our store, and our employees were threatened with being fired by the store manager. The employees were followed into the mall when they met with union organizers, photographed, and disciplined. The store was sued.

As long as union activities are done outside of Macy's and on YOUR time, you CANNOT get fired. Union representatives can't meet in the store or with you as long as you or any other associate are on the clock. Union representative should not hand out union material/fliers on company premises.

Remember you cannot get fired if you're not on the clock or on Macy's property. Otherwise, go for it.

Don't take info that you read on Wikipedia too seriously, there is tons of false info there. Look for a better source.
