I saw this info.posted @ a different forum ( RW.com ) anyone heard anything about it?

" Staffworks is going away, as is the current time and attendance. They have been talking about this for about five years, and it apparently is coming to fruition. Yes, day off requests will now be submitted online, which, should be a good thing, since our store seems to have an issue with this topic. One of the HRMs in our district has gone south to get trained and will presumably be going from store to store in our district training Admin zone, admin dm, and HR. Everyone is supposed to ensure that staffworks info is current as it will transfer to new system.

So far, all true. As far as a timeline, the ball is already moving. Everything will be moving to a nice, "Streamlined" system on the computer. Isn't your HRM going around asking for new Employee profile forms from everyone? They were supposed to have that done by tomorrow. I know they do this once in a while to keep things up to date, but this time it's different. The long story short is:

--Access to your schedule through http://www.myloweslife.com(MLL)
--Time off requests through MLL
--You will still have the basic 4 functions of the 13. screen, but all time management will go through MLL
--Staffworks will be eliminated and a brand spanking new scheduling program will be coming out. The new program supposedly will do all the scheduling for us.
--Great importance will be placed on having the correct profile and availability in the system, as that is how it works
--Supposedly, the new system can chart sales and trends and make adjustments to staff levels accordingly

What is going on is that Lowe's is finally trying to step up our computer systems and take advantage of the technology that is out there. It's not all roses and beer though. Let's ask WHY they want to do this? More technology = less human intervention needed = less payroll dollars = more profit to report to Wall Street.

They finally seem to be getting it though. Look at the last year or two. In the very recent past we've had so many computer related upgrades in the company. WEX items were added. We've have the new LRT scanning process in use at our RDC's. We've have a new email system put into place in 65% of our stores. We added ISST which gets better every day. Don't forget the new and incredible returns system either. I guess what I'm saying is, IMO, the only positive side of all this change is the fact that Lowe's is trying to step it up on the technology end of things. Maybe my dream of killing Genesis will come true one day. Curse me for saying it but a Windows based system would be a Godsend for Lowe's.........."

Very Interesting !
