Home Depot and Unions or Anti Unions

I've seen a lot of chatter reguarding Home Depot and unionizing for a while now.I also see alot of post on alot of other boards about low morale,poor treatment and poor customer service.

I'm disappointed in Bernie Marcus,I've met people who worked for HD in the Bernie Marcus Aurthur Blank era-he loved the job and said it went down as soon as Nardelli took over.

This might explain why I've read where HD increased bonuses for various employees and departments.And the people I know that went to HD from Sears are 'OK' with it-They're glad to be out of Sears but don't seem to care about their HD job either way good or bad.

I also notice a lack of HD posters here and yet I see employees posting over most of the major stock boards.I know HD fired an internet poster in 2003 I think.Is the HD employee's job threatend by posting.I know the old RW has alot of HD posters.Where is everybody at?

Home Depot has been holding meetings with employee relations and salaried managers saying that an Obama win is not good for the employees in that they will loose their right to vote on a union with secret. uh-huh;

This is in reguards to the Employee Free Choice Act which allows employees to sign a card if they want to join a union rather than vote in a secret election.

One hand I agree,your choice to become union or not should be confidential but on the other if want to join or want a union and all YOU have to do is sign a card it can take a cumbersome and frequently delayed vote out of the picture that should be YOUR choice.
