spirituality. The believe in morals and the right thing to do. I do not have to follow a religion to be the kind of person I want to be. I grew up Catholic went to catholic school, but my true being is the spirtual feeling we can all find within ourselves if we listen to the quiet voice within

Organized religions are man-made, therefore, flawed. Man interjects his opinions, love of money, pride, and power into the doctrines and religion becomes just another product of human ineptitude. So, select a church with open eyes and ears. Some are good, some are not.
And not everyone's "still small voice within" is a good, or even sane one. Prisons and mental wards are filled with those who have proven that. The majority seems to desire good, however, and they must lead the rest. I believe that good will ultimately overcome evil, because good is an edifying force and evil is a deceptive one. Lies do not stand the test of time. "Lucifer" will have the last laugh at those he cons with his lies and phony gifts. He knows something they are too stupid to know--they will only be another notch on his belt. Evil or Very Mad

Yep, pretty sad, huh? The leading cause of death? People killing each other in the name of religion?! What could be more evil? Hmmm...I can see it now--First Church of the Annihilation.

"Hey, if you read history you'll realize that God is one of the
leading causes of death...has been for thousands of years.
Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Jews, all taking turns killing each other because God told them it was a good idea."

"Religion easily has the greatest bullshit story ever told. Think about it. Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!

But He loves you. He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He's all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can't handle money!"

Call me crazy, but I believe in the "Invisible Man in the Sky". Thumbs Up I also believe that He loves us all, etc.

God is not the leading cause of death, it's man misusuing God's name as the motive for doing all sorts of terrible things that is the cause.

I have never sent money to God -- Western Union said they don't deliver that far, and anyway I don't think God needs it personally. He's never asked me for any. I have put money in the collection plate, however, because the church's mortgage and light bill has to be paid every month just like mine.

Everyone believes that their religion is the "right" one, and those that have none believe that their view on religion overall is the "right" one. Religion = belief.

I believe what I believe, I have my own reasons, I've had my "proof" in countless ways, and I make no apologies for it. Very Happy

'Religion' is man-made. God Is, GOD! Father of Jesus Christ.
God also says that you must believe in His Son, Jesus Christ by Faith and accept Him in your heart and repent from your sins to have everlasting life with Him in Heaven someday. It's not in the 'religion' but in whom you put your trust and faith and who you choose to walk with daily!

I like that, Magpie--"Western Union doesn't deliver that far" Very Happy good one! Yep, mankind sure has a way of screwing up everything, even God's word. That's why I said if you're choosing a church, choose with care.

Trust within one`s self and at the same time, have an understanding of whom to follow.

For if the corse be as such, would their be a reason why?

It is only with an understanding of within that one will surely understand.

wouldn't some people say that religion is also one of the greatest human aids past and present as well?

wonderful and terrible things have been done in the name of religion, so on what basis does one really evaluate "rightness" of religion?

can you really base your opinion on the "rightness" of religion solely on how it affected humans in the past and present?

wouldn't you also evaluate the claims and philosophical structure each religion possesses when determining a "rightness"?

to simply dismiss the relevance of religion(which is what i assume we're attempting to discuss here) solely on all the bad that has been caused by religious fanatics/individuals with alterior motives is unfair in my opinion.

although i agree with you unhappy1314 that a lot of bad has happened, i think we need to take more time to evaluate the issue more.

on a somewhat related topic, I believe ignorance and indifference are many more times guilty of perpetuating death in our world.

So you think of yourself higher than God? Scary.
