has anyone noticed that since the meeting we had on the 22nd, that delivery has actually gotten worse (if that's possible).
i have never had the amount of delivery problems ever in my years at sears as i have these past two weeks...there are so many damaged pieces and out of stocks from the warehouse that the customers are canceling in DROVES!!!
way to go you dumbass company...somehow you have managed to tumble our delivery service BELOW rock bottom!!!

Right on Un!
You’re not the only one who has noticed this extremely discouraging trend. Ever since that big SOS meeting we’ve had to deal with about ten times more delivery problems and all of them have been about appliances. When I call the ROR specialist they act as though they’re going to take care of the problem, but they rarely do, at least not the customer’s satisfaction.. Then when I call the local MDO they basically say to f*%$ off and they’ll get around to it when they feel like it.
In the end it all comes back to the store, even NCR calls our store with delivery problems because they can’t get through to delivery and are hoping that the store has more “pull.” If we don’t fix this area of the business soon then Tillman and his cronies are easily going to overtake the market share by 2006 like they plan. You would think with a company the size of Sears that we would have the resources to satisfy our customers. (I would say WOW our customers, but at this point I would just settle for satisfaction.)
There seems to be three major problems within sears that need to be fixed. These are delivery, service, and in-stock condition. If we can get those three areas right then we could easily be the top retailer in the market. Yet all Hoffman seems to want to do is blame the stores and the sales teams for our downslide…
Give us the resources to provide for our customers and at the very least, meet their expectations without all the backend, behind the scenes bureaucratic red tape to wade through and we would kick ass!

One thing we could do to alleviate the delivery problem is have a truck or van for each store to go out and do local deliveries in case of emergencies...this would make the customers cream from such personal services!
Our appliance situation has really gotten out of control, and this new Stores Own Sales SOS bull caca is just going to shift all the blame onto the associates and the store...that way hoffman can keep their hands clean and blame us for the company's demise...SOS really stands for SAME OLD SHIT!

Unhappy, some of the stores had managed to hold on to their twenty year old delivery trucks, but just last year in the conversion everyone was FORCED to sell the trucks, as the company didn't want the expense of insurance and repairs. It was a sad day for many stores that really used those trucks to benefit the store. And I know that it caused employees in those stores, to shrug their shoulders and just say, well, if that's what they want, that's what they'll get.

Know what you mean, our store done away with our delivery associates years ago. Since then, delivery has went down hill.
From drinking alcohol while making deliveries, damage to customers property, damage to the merchandise, no respect to customers. When we had our own delivery associates, we didn't have all of these problems. They must be saving money somewhere. I guess one place would be the wages, since the driver's get paid for each stop, rather than by the hour.

In the New Brunswick store we used Mid State delivery service. It was a guy with a truck who made deliveries for our store for years. It was great and often saved many a sale! Sears HQ said there will be no more use of outside delivery services. It was sad, the guy who delivered for Sears for many years was told that we no longer needed his services. But actually we did need them!!!
