Thanks. In case anyone is wondering, we were hacked. The perps' installed what appeared to be an IRC server and overwrote almost every HTML and PHP file with that "this site has been defaced" crap.

No big deal. I appreciate everyones patience.

sleK, can you please post specifically what worm was being distributed. Thanks.

Good to see you back this fast, btw.

[edit] never mind on the worm info. Don't use IE, so should be fine. Scan came up fine and I just realized that I haven't been on since Friday or Saturday I think.[/edit]

Install patches/update what software? Surely you don't mean phpbb. Confused

[edit] never mind, I just figured out your use of "I don't know" Embarassed [/edit]

Ignore that. I didn't post it. Some nimrod exploited a session vulnerability this morning.

Exploit results in one post in, of all places, the Feedback & Support forum, pointing out a failure to update the board software on time. Either those were some impotent exploits, or that was one unusually considerate "nimrod". Sorry, don't mean to make light of the situation, just, looking back, their sense of humour reminds me of yours.

P.S. I should have figured that you didn't post that, sleK, as soon as I saw that they used four and then two dots for their ellipses.

Although it was rather cute, a non-nimrod would have brought the exploit to my attention via email.
