I have noticed that in my area, they have been shifting alot of people from one store that is doing very poorly, to other stores(e.g. managers and such). I can see some closing by the first of the year.

exactly!! My husband took the buy-out Sears offered about 10 years ago. I have over 14 years in, and we have sold most of our Sears stock.

Just read a news clip stating that Citigroup will absorb current reported 8,300 employees - called my son and he received an email confirming this today - he is looking to Citigroup now coming in and releasing much of the employees over a 1 yr period - by Citgroup absorbing all the employees, Sears is relieved of any buy-out packages for any of these employees - now they just have to wait for the axe

lowmorale, a large portion of those associates are headquarters associates. Is it crappy that they did it to themselves then?

I have a number of friends tied to the Credit wing of our business. I can tell you to a person, they are very uneasy about their futures. Will they still be employed? With whom? Will they have to move?
Lots of anxious people at Hoffman right now.

Talked to a guy today that his whole department was wiped out, I feel empathy for the people at headquarters too. He said he is doing fourteen peoples job right now. I also talked to a wonderful woman who worked in our store before going there, the company could not ask for more devotion or sweetnes she got her walking papers. I dont know, I should not bash headquarters I will direct it more to the board of directors! Sorry Footie!!! I am just one of those that really think that if some people did not make so much money they could of kept alot of people in work, alot of people not so stressed by too much work, not so many people living in poverty like 57, learn not to waste the stuff they do, there was no need for the abuse put on so many people wth the stupid programs, the money that was wasted on six sigma has not done one thing, except make customer service worse, brought the morale down, the company has spendt so much money training and training again, when with a little dignity and respect they could of kept their own people
