I was surfing the net to find a local Home Depot in my area and I came across this site and I cant believe you people can honestly believe there is a future in retail.
I worked for sears and several other retailers going through collage and if I had to depend on that for a career I would blow my brains out. Ok some get lucky and get corprate jobs but sooner or later you will be looking for one again.
Once you start to make a few bucks they will find an excuse to get rid of you so they can hire some freeloader from a third world country so they can pay them a lower wage. Sears is the one guilty of recycling there employees and has a high turn over.
I also get a kick out of all the people working retail with a collage degree " What a waste of time "

you have a point to a degree, but don't be arrogant about it...at one time there actually was a future in retail, you could make some damn good money...i work at sears and have had a college degree for about 9 months, there are just no jobs out there in my field, so i'm exploring other options (not retail).
and BTW, what "collage" did you go to?

Your welcome.. I guess the truth hurts and it always seems on forums if your feelings get hurt the best they can do is hit you you some lame remark about a word that was incorrect... I'm sure you make no errors.. Did I spell everything correct????
Unhappy 1314 I guess there is always Burger King or Subway.. Good luck..

Rob G, you don't need to post the same message in every forum. We get your point. And I'm moving this topic to "Politics."

LOL he sure did! But I am sorry to see such things happening already. A lot of us from RW wanted to start with a clean slate....but the same old things are happening......it is discouraging.

That one doesn't even warrant a response. Mods should be dropping by soon.

Rob G. --- Is all this language REALLY necessary? If you're coming on here just to swear and tell some people off, why don't you go elsewhere and get a life?? The LAST thing we need is something like this just when we finally found a forum again. Needless to say, not all people interested in talking about Sears have quite the grasp on the "English" language that you do....

Yes, I second that.
If the sole purpose of the thread was to rouse inflamatory comments and responses, then it should stop wasting our and your bandwidth. Let's drop that baggage.

I just hate being insulted by a punk that has no respect for others. Some people have college degrees, like me, that do work for Sears. Some of these people are doing worse jobs than us. He need to grow up and get a life

Aye. We all know who we are and where we stand. Let us not subscribe to that cheap-per-view channel where jellyfish (try to) tell elephants where to roam.

Sorry to see all the angry post But I think this could have been prevented if we did not stoop to their level cursing them back. I think ignorance sometimes can go both ways. So just ignore the trouble and they will get bored and go away.

Rob G: You're welcome to come here, express your opinions and engage in discussion with the other forum participants. We expect, however, that you conduct yourself with at least a bare minimum of civility. So cut the offensive language and poor netiquette or you'll get the boot. Don't make you talk to you about this again.
Some of you have suggested deleting this thread, do you really want to do that? Your responses to Rob's inflammatory comments show a great deal of tolerance on your part and his choice of words...well, I think those reflect on him and not on anyone else. Sometimes you can learn something from people's behaviour, even inappropriate behaviour.
Why do you think people resort to this kind of offensive behaviour in online discussion forums? What do you think compelled Rob to make his multiple posts and spout profanity at people he's likely never even met?
SearAP has some good advice on how to deal with people who are trying to be disruptive. Ignoring them does tend to discourage them.

I think I can speak for Kanaka on this as well as myself. We felt that such a thread so early in this sites life was discouraging. We just do not want anything like RW to happen again. If the hammer comes down fast and hard, then it will hopefully discourage the flamers.

If this is to be a place to enjoy then we need to have some stiff rules and somewhat heavy handed moderators at least for a while. Thanks for the warning, I think in the future we should lock these threads to keep the beating up on each other to a minimum.
Usually at the sports forum where I spend most of my time (7000 members) threads like this one are locked in order to show everyone that they will be delt with. I suggest this thread be locked. JMHO

Thanks Kanaka but instead of locking the thread it may be an idea for all those concerned to ignore the offensive posts, continue with the discussion like they are not there.
Discontinue counter remarks and let the moderators deal with the offender.
Do not feed the Trolls!
The thread will remain up for now as it will be great if the contributors here can take posession of their own thread.

As long as they have FINISHED college, I think the associate can determine whether or not a job at Sears is going to be lucrative for them. I find it very discouraging though when I see kids drop out of college thinking they will make Sears a full-time career. It can sometimes be hard for a 20something to look 10,20,30 years into the future. For many, especially these kids who are getting hired into Brand Central, they are thinking they are making good enough money and don't need to finish their education. If not that, they get roped into credit card debt and other issues and have to quit school to work more hours.
