I got NOTHING! For all of the years that I have worked there, NOTHING! This past time that I hit another 5 year mark, they didn't even give me a new pin with the correct # of years. No appreciation, I tell ya. That's okay, b/c my paycheck is all that I care about from Macy's.

my anniversary is next week - BLACK FRIDAY. yup, that is the day i started. it's a lot of years. i won't even get a lousy cup of coffee. a cake would be nice.
actually i was thinking of ordering a big sheet cake and put it in the break room with my name on it.....happy anniversary...so and so number of years of service. that would start something, eh ?? associates would be bitching about that for years to come. i can hear it now, " hey !!! why did they get norma rae a cake ?? i never got anything !!!! ""
heh. the only thing is i wouldnt' be able to carry it in and they'd see me coming down the escalator w/ it. it's a good thought, tho, isn't it ??

You guys are too funny We used to get certificates, gift cards, cakes, etc, for our milestones, now we get our name written on Macy's wall of shame...er, I mean fame with all the others. One of our associates got a big sheet cake and ice cream for her "40th" yr. That was really nice. I just can't imagine being with any retail company for 40 yrs, especially this hell-hole!

It is a terrific idea!!! Could you pay someone else to do it for you. It would be worth it. Maybe someone on the morning team who comes in real early. Disguise it in a big box or something! We used to have a guy who brought in a big birthday cake for himself every year!
