Also, our stockrooms have this fuzzy-looking stuff on the ceilings and pipes. Some of us were convinced it was asbestos or something but the store claims that they inspectors from the state in to prove that it isn't.

Easy enough to find out. If the state says it's OK, then there's a record of the inspection that can be checked publicly. |
No, it's probably just a form of insulation of some kind that they spray on those beams and pipes, especially if it is in a cold area. I know what they are talking about.
Course, you could research and diagnose yourself with Mesothelioma

that reminds me... this past summer we had NO hot water in the bathrooms.. none. i was just about to call the board of health when it fianally got turned on. and i know it was the OPS manager trying to save $$$$. crap. it must have worked. he is going to manage the small macy's nearby in january. OUR manager is going to the bigger store nearby and unfortunately for us we are getting the manager from the smaller store to be our new manager !!! i knew he would come back. i just knew it. he WAS the start team manager in our store before he became the new SM at the smaller store. and he is a BITCh on wheels. you cannot believe how he talked to his team . i couldn't believe my ears the way he treated them. his employees at his store now don't love him either.
oy. more motivation for me to leave my store !!!!

I thought that with cooler weather coming in the fall, our store's temperature would be better regulated.
WRONG.
It's still a good ten to fifteen degrees too warm in two-thirds of the selling floor area. Some work was done over the summer when the heat inside the store became unbearable, but it's still uncomfortably warm -- and stagnant -- in my selling area. I have at least four or five customers complain each day, more on the weekends. But I've given up complaining because I get the same uncommitted answer every time. Instead, I'm directing the customers to the web site and "tell us what you think." I've about had it.
