How do you breathe new life into a corpse??? New expectations for behavior??? Is that going to include how to have USED condoms which are stuck to a condom box in HBA, weaved in your face as my daughter had a couple weeks ago by the new receiving male associate?? Asking her " if she wants it??" I just don't think I can stomach another rah rah meeting, with the lousy assoiciuate of the day award going to someone who has already been beaten over the head with their job, and the don't see it my way leave then routine. I've memorized the crap until it gives me nightmares, only relieved by a hefty dose of antidepressants combined with two Tylenol sleeping pills. May try throwing in a fifth of bourbon for good measure. ALL HAIL HITLER. |

Daka, I think you misunderstood what Gageflame was getting at with the "Heil Hitler". He/she meant no disrespect for anyone (except Sears management). The "Heil Hitler" is the way Sears expects US employees to respond, like stupid, unthinking automatons, to their orders, just like the German crowds responded to Hitler. When Sears management gives an order, they want us to snap our shoes together smartly and throw that arm up sharply and bark out enthusiastically to whatever insane ideas they have come up with. They want no disagreements, no arguments, no fussing or whining, just total, immediate, unthinking obedience. That's what the "Heil Hitler" is all about. Has nothing to do with the Jewish faith or any other faith. And we employees are having nothing to do with such stupidity. We're not unthinking automatons. |

Comparing a stupid meeting to friggin Hitler is the stupidest thing I've ever read on this forum. It was a meeting. This is retail. Comparing it to Hitler and his regime...doesn't even compute.
I'm glad I work in the store I do. Things might get bad, but at least we (that have been there a while) care about each other and can remain relatively upbeat. |

Anyhow, I'm sticking by what I believe...we had a good meeting and most liked it. We were able to complain about a lot of things and most importantly our SGM agreed with a lot of the crap we have to go through. Thank god my SGM is not a corporate drone. Now...the DM on the other hand...

Thank you all and I respect all of your opinions. We are all entitled to our own. I just don't like the reference Gageflame used. I have had my problems at Sears and so does a relative of mine, however, we never reference anything of hostility or anger at anything religious or hateful. I noticed that Gageflame did not join in or explain herself. I believe she is her own destructive force. |

My reference to Hitler was just that, a connection between the regime at this company, and the Nazi's. As a Wiccan, I have no problems with any religion Jewish or otherwise but when you see parallels between two similar events you can't ignore them. Open your eyes an look. From the youth movement that Obama is currently working on this country, to the you will be assimilated by Kmart and Sears or else, is turning that direction
I didn't respond immediately because I currently have a legal problem I'm dealing with and I do not live on the internet 24/7. But when someone stands up especially management and tells someone he can program me or anyone else to be the perfect Kmart associate the parallel cannot be ignored. |

Too bad they can't force customers to take seminars. Those people are ruining Sears culture with their negativity. If they would just quit saying NO to shit they don't want or need, and quit demanding competent delivery of the merchandise they want right now, just think how positive a culture Sears could have.

I don't intend to get into a debate on this. Believe what I'm saying or not it doesn't matter to me either way. The simple fact is some of us would like nothing better than to run from this company and forget we ever had anything to do with them but for some of us running isn't that easy. But when someone is battered endlessly with the " be glad you even have a job" even if it's a crappy job, bull every single day they get sick and tired of it. It does nothing to make them want to work themselves into an early grave with the constant chase your own tail.
I've watched this forum run Luis into the ground claiming he or she is lying, until he or she doesn't want to say anything, and now some of you thinking you will do the same with me. It's the old Kmart/Sears humiliate and ridicule routine . Well no thank you since I've watched over the last two years as first one person, usually an older person is riduled and humiliated out the door at Kmart. Now as to this meeting, I QUIT attending those little huddles in this store,( I'd rather stand in front of a speeding truck,or have my finger nails removed with flaming hot pinchers) with this store manager because I could not stomach the crap he was spewing any longer without throwing up down the front of his starched shiny shirt. It made me physically ill to hear his bull day after day, not to mention depressed the hell out of me until I wanted to hang myself in the loading bay. I would NOT attend any meetings manditory or not. I'm glad some of you have decent managers, I too had one or two of those until they ran them off. but don't get complacent and think it will continue because from 9 years experience it won't. Now I'm close to losing my home because I took a stand against the discrimination and retailiation but I did take a stand and said no more, which is a hell of a lot more than I've seen some on this forum and at this Kmart store willing to do. Most of the others in this store where I work would rather lie and say everything is peachy rather than tell the truth but then stand and complain when the manger rides their backs and writes them up because they can't perform miracles or be in 5 places at once. Personally I hope they enjoy being told constantly they are worthless, and replacable, because I didn't. I'm human not a blasted borg. Now let me tell you this little story about the coming back in threes, in my belief that doesn't have to be in this lifetime but can be in another. don't know who I killed in a former life, but he must have been important. A young man who looted my mobile home which I owned free and clear on a leased lot, yes a registered lease no less, a few years ago when it was destroyed by a biggoted land owner, a young man I babysat for when he was a child the same age as my younger son, just had a very bad four wheeler accident. He spent several years in prison for unrelated crimes. got out and the first thing he did is went right back to the same thing. Was going too fast after stealing some items and flipped the four wheeler cracking his skull. They do not know if he will survived or what his condition will be. Now a part of me wants to say well he had it coming and another part of me is so very sad for a life thrown away.  The point? This company could stand to learn from past experiences and stop making the same mistakes which will eventually drag them into bankrupcy again. You can put lipstick on a pig but it doesn't change the fact it's still a pig.
Now if I don't say anything for a few days don't think you've suceeded in ridiculing, calling me a liar, or humiliating me into the old rah rah, we're a great company to work for crap, or suceeded in stopping me from telling the facts. It's just because I have a lot better things to do right now and haven't been feeling all that well the last couple days. Suffice it to say I don't shop at this store or any store in this company, since I would not want to be accused of stealing anything while holding a receipt in my hand, my family does not shop at this store, my friends do not shop at this store and I have no intention of running around on my off time and begging them to do so. A thank you to those of you who stood up for me. I'm glad there are a few commonsense people still left on this forum. I guess the big meeting missed me thank heavens for small favors. |
