The responses were probably so negative from everybody that they can't twist it into a happy, feel good meeting. They're probably banking on that we will forget about it. I did until I read this.

They probably got lost in a leaky boat after being tabulated in India.
Next they'll have to find someone to translate the results from Hindi to English. They won't find that out until after about 2 weeks of some "brain" at Hoffman scratching their head trying to find out why it doesn't look like English letters.

It was my understanding that they were only forwarding results only to departments who have more than three associates in order to protect those in small departments. No, if results were passed to the local units, they're not yet being shared throughout the store; but it's my impression these surveys were done for the "larger picture" on the "state of the stores" as a whole in a given region or area where, hypothetically, the results would uncover a discernable pattern of thoughts or behavoirs that could be addressed at that level. It's unlikely that the store's would get individual department results unless that department has a large amount of employees - (rec'g, center-aisle cashiers, etc). But the others will be grouped with others surrounding stores to protect the privacy of the individuals whose departments don't have enough staffing to protect their identities so as to prevent retaliation.

Was this a "required" exercise to be signed-off on, a la training activities online? HR and store manager get a big spank if training percentage completed is not 100% by end of month, and repercussions supposedly start somewhere around the 15-20th of the month if tracking percent is not to a successful completion point by end of month time.
From what I was told by my Kmart folks, the surveys were supposedly one of these types of training exercises -- so that would mean that the store was supposed to treat it as such: 100% compliance by end of month/survey response end date. Possibly it was different on the Sears side (imagine that, wouldja).
I'm just waiting for the whitewash and spin to come out about this whole exercise, just like their "Executive" survey that had ALL respondents submitting glowing reviews of Eddie, ALLWIND, and other "great" leaders like Don Germano and their ilk -- back in, what was it, 2006? Stack the deck, and results are easier to "predict".

The survey results were gathered; studied and deciphered... And then shared with the DOS's and SGM's at their Christmas kick off meetings. They also offered specific information to the SGM's on what it was the associates were looking for to improve the "culture" and "working atmospheres" in the stores. It was supposed to filter down to everyone in the store while management also implemented some of the improvements on their own. I believe the results are visible to all (or at least the interpretations of the results) through the intranet. It was in the presentation packet at the SGM's meetings. It was also discussed on some conference calls.

Another "hidden link" nobody can find out in the open?
With the "high priority" assigned to this exercise, where's the same "high priority" being given to the results?
