beginning oct 19, you have to start entering your 8 digit associate number into the POS , 71xxxxxx, where xxxxxx is your current 6 digit employee number

OMG !!! GIVE ME A FRIGGIN BREAK ALREADY !!!!!

great. now it will take only 10 minutes to ring up each customer for one item.

let's see. first we will have to put in our 25 digit i.d. number. get everything off of the hangars = 2 minutes if you are fast. put the little stickers on every item, but first taking the time to find a spot to put them on = 7 minutes.
oh, i forgot 12 minutes to try to push the customer to :

1 - open a macy's charge
2 - push the shop for a cause coupon
3 - push the thanks for sharing program coupon
4 - push the donate for dinner = come+together program
5 - OH !!!! make sure to ask for their zip code now
6 - sign your name and go thru the whole "go online to tell us about your experience thing
7 - explain why we are the only company in america now why we don't have dimes anymore

have i forgotten anything ?? i'm sure i have. Doh!

what the heck am i talking about ?? with all of this crap to do, it will probably take 27 minutes to ring out each customer.

yes, you count !!!!! Thumbs Up

since when? every once in a while the register prompts for zip code on credit, but not every transaction.

Oh, lets not forget: "engaging in conversation."

Hangers? we ask if they want the hangers. we leave hangers on children/baby clothes, unless they specifically tell us NO HANGERS. It's funny, we've got it down on which ethnic groups want hangers; and we're right 99% of time.

Starting November 1 you must take a DNA sample and Drug Test for all Macy's Applications. Should the customer not have their Macy's card present they must purchase a SFTC and pay a $3.00 fine.

So those of us who are off this weekend, will go in to work on Tuesday unaware of the changes and won't be able to clock in.
Macy's is great about communication!

we were not informed of this change at our morning rally, however, as soon as I rang up my first sale of the day, I saw a longer field where our numbers go and I just chuckled to myself cause I knew what to do from reading this forum, thanks everyone for the info. Thumbs Up I called my mgr and told him about it, then the calls started coming in to him. We didn't need to use the first 2 digits to open the register, it prompted after the register was open to ring up the first sale, then it was written on the screen to remind us. The first 2 digits should be permanent in the field and all we have to do is add our employee #. But you know how it is when something makes too much sense, right? Confused

My store too! The lady working with me was freaking out b/c she couldn't ring a sale, and I told her to put in the entire number. No one ever said a word about it.

they only announced it briefly sunday morning at the rally that it would be in effect the next day - monday- but the majority of people were not there sunday morning !!

idiots.

what a royal pain in the ass this is !!! besides forgetting to do it, it is a LOT of numbers to key in every friggin time you want to do anything.... retickets, checking your schedule, an d checking your totals which the a-holes want us to do every 10 minutes.

jeesh.
