Okay we are all sick of this trite statement! But on my last post when I came in to pay off the balance on my Macy's card, I overheard a conversation between a employee and a customer.

Employee: (waiting on the phone) Can you check to see if you have these pair of jeans at your store because this customer wants to pick it up there?

2 minutes later.

Employee: She hung up on me.

Customer: I'm sorry.

Employee: I can't believe this! They are so rude! Sir, you need to go to our Macy's website and say that store *** and that employee ***** was being rude. Rate them as being horrible because you had a bad experience with them. Meanwhile, you can rate our store as overall outstanding!

---------------------------------------------------

Okay I know we've all dealt with other rude stores but how many of you have ever put a customer in the middle of situation! Come on fess up! Rolling Eyes

I've told customers that if they didn't like something in the store (ie, chiristmas music, coupon restrictions) go to the website, but never about another store.

All the time. I regularly use customers as hostages whenever a manager is bothering me...

Seriously though, I feel I have actually berated certain salespeople in front of customers (insert your own reason here.) I have also told salespeople to tell the customer to comment on the website about the lack of shopping bags at one time.

Not sure where this would be, so here goes:

Today our store provided a "Patriotic" lunch: Hot dogs & chips. Well, I don't eat dogs, so as I was coming into the store this morning, all the early managers were at the door to greet us. They reminded us about the hot dog lunch. I said, "Thanks, but no thanks; I don't eat hot dogs."

Manager: "But they're turkey dogs."

Me: "Do you know what's in those? Lips and assholes." (from the movie, The Great Outdoors.)

Do you know the manager turned me in to MY manager for saying that?????? WTF?? (I wasn't even clocked in yet;before the store opened)

When my manager confronted me, I said that the other manager was a BITCH. I got a real dirty look. Who cares??? How petty.

Hmmm, Outstanding service? Another story:

Tuesday a woman wanted to return 2 DKNYC dresses that she got on clearance/sale for $35/ea. and buy them back with a coupon. Looking at her receipt, she already used some sort of discount coupon which caused the price to be so low. (I guess those dresses are expensive)

When I scanned them, one dress was currently at $82. So when I told her that this is what you will be paying today, she had a fit. The woman said that "they told me downstairs that I can use the coupons." "Then you need to take them back downstairs and deal with it there."

When I told my manager of the incident, she was actually on my side. How rare was that?

Not sure if the lady got what she wanted, but it was out of my hands.

Bell, I'm with you on hotdogs, but I buy Ball Park Turkey Franks, they are made with ONLY the white meat of the turkey. (I hope!!!)
