Why do you think they can't? Sounds like maybe you haven't been in the work force very long.

Seems like that's the way it is at most stores throughout the system these days. There's only one alternative for each of us.

People work for the store not a given department. Sometimes a rotation comes around.

Think of it this way. you have a good employee and you have a bad one in another. The margin potential in the good ones department is ok but if the bad one could get going it's far higher. So they move someone. If you higher someone new it takes time to train and the benifits start up again etc.

Sometimes a person can be good or bad in another department...you don't know unless they work there.

What makes you think that they would have to ask you before transferring you to a different department.

Of course they can change us all around. A best practice should be that they talk to us before they do it, at least smooth the way, tell us why they are doing it, but it seems like sometimes we go in to work and find out by looking at the schedule.
