Living through the results of virtually total deregulation and the aftermath of total neglect by our own government watchdog agencies that were virtually gutted during the last ten years or so, I find it heartening to know that other governments recognize the dangers in allowing huge corporations to trample smaller competitors into the dirt by hook or by crook and aren't as willing to be complicit in such practices as our own graft and corruption riddled nest of snakes. I wonder how much Intel paid out in bonuses to this bunch of fat cat corporate reptiles.

The last paragraph offers the US consumer some hope... provided they actually go through with it. I'm not holding my breath though.

| And the U.S. may be stepping up action. The Federal Trade Commission upgraded a probe into Intel last year — and as the Obama administration is set to take a more aggressive approach against monopoly abuse by reversing a strict interpretation of antitrust law that saw regulators shun such cases. |

Corporate America : FRACK NO , We're doing what ever we want and it will be sanctioned by our allies in the political and corporate world.

There's been some tit for tat US/EU disagreements.
EU blocked the merger of GE and Honeywell and tried to ban gmo foods. USA blocked some ownership..there was a uk supermarket chain here that tried to buy out another. They had to sell off a bit of it to comply.
