was it a video that you had to download off of a website or through email?

you would have to upload it to a server or ftp space. some isp's do give you your own ftp. i used to have aol, and they gave me 20 megs of ftp. so you could always use something like that. also, hosts like yahoo allow you to use their ftp space, in exchange for making you a marketing mule. by the way, yahoo sucks.

So do AOL and half a dozen other paid ISP providers that give you some personal webspace. For your everyday scenario like Mrs DD's, Yahoo Briefcase does the job very well ... and most importantly - free. It also does not require Mrs DD to learn how to manage a server, or what ftp is and whether to ftp in binary or ASCII. Yahoo Briefcase allows the everyday user to upload/download and manage their files using Yahoo's online interface, which is as easy to use as Yahoo Mail.
There are a few really great ftp'able free webhosts out there that even allow you databases, but I'm not about to disclose those here to those whose only purpose in life seems to be to bash free enterprise, just because they know where the "~" key is on a keyboard.
Mrs DD, if you require further help, just post the question. I'll be away for two days, but will help you along when I'm back. Or just email that attachment to my email. Best of luck.

very true. i don't in any way condone most isp providers. especially aol.

it also allows yahoo to make you into yet another advertising mule. nothing is free, especially on the internet. i've never used yahoo briefcase before (and i never will). there are literally thousands of other free ftp providers that are just as easy, if not easier, to use than yahoo.
mrs dd, if i still used my computer as a server, i'd put it up for you.

This notation says I can no longer share with the public unless they are a yahoo registered member - I think that's what it says:
*Please note: If you are a member of the free Yahoo! Briefcase service, public access to your uploaded files will no longer be available. However, you will still be able to share your files with people with Yahoo! IDs and via email.
