Did anyone get this too in the mail?

Class Representative Lauren Ressler filed the Lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court on June 14, 2005. In the Lawsuit the Class Representative alleged, among other things, that non-union hourly employees at Macy's and Bloomingdale's stores in California were denited meal breaks and rest breaks in violation of California law. The Class Representative filed the Lawsuit as a Class Action on behalf of non-union, hourly employees who worked at Macy's or Bloomingdales in California from June 14, 2001 through February 3, 2008 (the Covered Time Frame)....In this settlement, Macy's will make a total of $25 million.

Technically speaking since I was employed during those dates and if I join the lawsuit, I might get an estimate of $600 paid out to me if the case wins. What do you think?

Do it. But why does it say "Macy's will make a total of 25 million"?

Why would you sue Macy's? Macy's Is The Best!

Ooops...

Uh, yeah, I would have to agree that I would join that one. I have an employer I would love to sue even now for unpaid wages I will never receive.

Anything you can get out of that place is worth it! Think of it as being able to use one of the $10.00 coupons when you were an employee...

Okay, $20.00 macy money, a free Thanks for Sharing sticker for your defunct Macy's card, some tacky free gifts that are suppossed to entice associates to open accounts, AND...you can have my job!

As a new member, I'd like to speak up on behalf of the Gulf Coast of Florida. I'd like to start a class-action on Macy's Florida. I have been employed for 1 year here on the Gulf coast. I know there is no union but, most of what I encounter on a daily basis would constitute a flagrant violation of the Geneva convention. Why do I take it? Like most I need to work not only for the paltry sum of $7.65 an hour, but for medical insurance. I feel like I'm stuck in this retail wheel of torture. My feet hurt, I'm given too much work to complete and I never get out on time. Forget about a 15 minute break...I just take 1 hour everyday for lunch because no one remembers there is an associate with an extended bladder in the rear of the store. Fixtures are falling apart. Things are dirty and worn out. The sales goals are too high, and the archaic methods of Macy's "customer's first", are known to any savvy shopper as an invitation to shoplift and abuse the store. What is this!... Mad [/b]

Unfortunately it goes on because most people like you stay because of their situations! Most people HAVE to have insurance! That is why I stay. Macy's knows this, so that is how they get away with their policy on paying people a horrible wage! They care absolutely NOTHING about their employees. We are at the bottom of their list. I don't think it will change and believe a time is going to come soon when they will not offer insurance.

Since no one in our store got a raise this year (for various reasons, not one the truth) everyone I've talked to will be sending in their postcard. Some people are afraid that thy will get in trouble. No joke. My reasoning is that if I get $1.00, it would be well worth it.

$375,000 will be going to California Labor and Work Force Development Agency; attorneys fees, FICA, etc.
