In the market I work we have had several training meetings warning us against joining a union. What do you think about unions. As a Target team member do you think a union would be beneficial to us? Their doesn't seem to be much discussion on this site. I hope to get some feedback on this topic.

You have had meetings considered training meeting with the main topic being 'don't join a union' ?-Too me that's a waste with all the issues & problems that all retailers have . That's also bringing politics into the work place
Sounds like they're afraid of Obama and his support of the Employee Free Choice bill which would allow potential union member just to sign paperwork with a union rather than have the worksite vote yea or nea to a union .

I have to agree about the lack of discussion that goes on here among Team Members, it's rather disappointing.
As for unions, they do a lot of good for some people, though they may create a lot of problems. I believe a union would be a good idea if everyone at Target were making a career for themselves and not just a job. For me it's a job, unless at some point I get promoted and I'm able to make an adequate living working at Target. At that point I might see a union as beneficial.
I do think Target is going a little overboard with it's anti-union propaganda.
