I left Sears after 5 years selling appliances.
I submitted my information online and have yet to hear from anyone.
I am available 4 - ? M-F
Saturdays and Sundays - any
Is this a workable schedule - i want part-time approx. 25-30 hours?
BTW - be glad you are not on commission - Sears people will rip your heart out for $5-$20 bucks especially now that they are desperate for sales and there are 20 people on the sales floor.
Also, when you put times available on the application site, i log back in and the times have changed on their own. What's up with that? Afternoons change to evenings in the little circles, etc. Thanks!

In good times or bad times to me the computerized application is a huge drawback in that it's still only as good as who programmed it .Home Depot,Sears,Lowes etc all are looking for ' the ideal ' retailworker-they want an individual available for 24/7,satisfied with lower wages and get as many tax breaks as possible.Answer one question wrong and you can be knocked out of contention-that may be your case for PT at HD .
Onething I noticed is that many managers don't like people who legitimately ,professionally and ethically leave a company even in good standing with 2 weeks notice etc without a job.But part that goes back to wanting someone who is " desperate " or will be boxed into not leaving a job. Many don't like anything on your resume that even hints that you want to make alot of money. In your case commission which I've seen first hand .
I forget but on one of the other HD message boards like Yahoo,MSN or Google I saw where many areas of the country HD is actually laying off part-timers.Right place right time thing.
Good Luck

I wouldn't look for an interview any time soon. HD has a hiring freeze in place right now. Part-timers, like me, find themselves working in other departments just to get a few more hours on their schedules. Look for more opportunities toward spring when we need to staff the garden and paint departments up.
